Although she has been a locally-recognized artist for many years now, she hadn't set up a website presence yet. The prospect of building a website from scratch overwhelmed her and she procrastinated on it for many years, until the gallery that represented her gave her a nudge to make it a reality. A mutual friend reminded her that I offered website design and we decided to meet together over artisan pizza and wine.
As it turns out, I was in the market for an art piece for our new house at the time, so we commissioned each other simultaneously! It was such a fun opportunity to reconnect with a high school friend and I am OBSESSED with the huge abstract art piece she created for us
(below).
As always, we started from the ground up with an extensive strategy and wireframing process, followed by a Style Tile phase to ensure that the new website aligned beautifully with her artistic style and big-hearted personality. She gave me a ton of creative license and it made for a super fun, free-flowing design process. In fact, this was one of my favorite website projects to date!
By the end of the project, we had a clean, modern, mobile-responsive web presence that felt inspiring, encouraging, and warm. On top of that, I was able to experiment with creating a completely custom portfolio framework for her that makes keeping it updated a total breeze.
